Carsten Pieper Anyone remembering Jon Lord's stage pun, introducing himself as "Rick Emerson"? Well, these are names that certainly come to mind while listening to brother Organ Fury. Early ELP might be the most obvious reference point, but by far not the only one. These French brother duo from Rennes stays clear from guitarists, although a bassist has been allowed to lend a hand. Favorite track: The Hangman.

TheEliteExtremophile Moundrag is a French organ-and-drums duo, and their sound strongly evokes some of the earliest prog acts. They’re in the same vein as bands like Quatermass and Rare Bird, and they’re fairly similar to the modern act Ring Van Möbius.

Sargent Signals DAMN... Most Prog Rock doesn't impress me, but THIS IMPRESSED ME... Favorite track: Demon Race.

A You can't listen to this and not think of Yes in their progedelic glory. Moundrag comes with that same ability to craft rich, wild landscapes which are, at the same time, totally composed and fully awesome. Interesting, impressive, beautiful, righteous. Oh, goodness, and the disco beat at the end of Demon Race is the kind of moment that splits wide the curtain and shows you that music always wins over money and greed and vanity—joyous.
